Jazilla, nice pockets. I have a Clark NA and I love the pockets for my shoes and gear. I may implement your idea on another hammock. Thanks.

Bubogears tarp poles, fit inside each other ... I don't think they are available any more.

What I was thinking was a solid peice of Silnylon, Run shock cord in the lower edge to hold it tight under the suspension triangle. And use a mitten hook and a length of shock cord from the lower corners closest to the hammock body to anchor it at thos two corners. Can either use a piece of grossgain ribbon to tie onto the top corner, or sew the first couple inches of the sides from the top corner together to create a hole for the suspension to run through. Similar to making a removable bug net.

Not a bad idea but I don't like the seam at the very top. What about a single piece of silnylon in the shape of an hour glass. The lower triangle would be smaller than the top. When seams are run the suspension goes into the lower triangle making the shelf and the shock cord goes in the top piece making it the cover. With the cover being bigger the sides should overlap over the edge of the shelf. With it folded over it eliminates the sewed section at the top.

I was thinking of it as a single piece of sil with just hemming around the edges. If you wanted the cover and the shelf to be a single unit you could cut out a large semicircle to sew into a cone shape with the seam along the bottom and a drawstring in the narrow end to seal it up on the suspension. And mitten hooks could be used to clip in the bottom of the shelf nearest the hammock with shock cord between them to form the pocket.

Its really hard to describe what I'm thinking without actually making a prototype I fear.

No I get what your imagining. Then it slips over your suspension like a hat (closest reference I could think of at the moment) and the shock cord would make the shelf part. I don't think the mitten hooks are needed. With the shock cord in just the bottom edge it will make a sort of pocket there and the weight of what ever is placed inside it will keep it close to the hammock.

Only downside to this is your limited on what you can put in the pocket. Its a good size but with a cover I couldn't stick my pack in it.
