    Anodized Dutch Clips...a first?

Well no pictures as of right now, but I can't help asking. Has anyone done anodized dutch clips? Just got a buddy of mine, who owns a small bicycle component manufacturing shop, hooked on hangin, and hes in the process of makin some anodized red and blue dutch clips to give me at the trailhead tomorrow! Pics to come. I'll be interested to see how they come out. Now I just need to talk him into making me some elephant trunks!

Yep.. did it... DIY style, but like Dutch said: Unless you have the right dyes and sealers, they fade in UV...

Thanks! But after a week in the sun, they're back to mostly gray...

You COULD anodize them camo.... just "paint" on the dyes, or mask areas off when dyeing... of course, paint is MUCH easier.

One thing I did find out: Anodized, dyed or not, doesn't Smut. (Leave black/silver streaks on stuff). That was worth it, alone.

Also, my anodized grease pot seems easier to clean:

I have been considering trying this out. I want to try it with an IMUSA mug. Do you feel it was worthwhile? What are your thoughts on the rit dye and toxicity of its contact with food and (boiling) water? I have read that food coloring can be used but with mixed results.

My intent wasn't to dye the inside, but dipping it was hard... I slipped and it sank...

I scrubbed the heck out of it, boiled water in it 10 times, and it hasn't visibly changed... If I were to do it again, I'd use dye with a brush and intentionally mottle the dye-job...

I have a bucket of diluted acid and a power supply if you want it... Or send me a cleaned pot and I'll anodize it for you.
