Almost looks like a Christmas angel
Looks like it'll do the trick well enough though
Looks nice. How cold can one go with just a pad like this? Thinking about making one myself.

I too am curious as to what kind of insulating value your set-up would have. It does look like it would do a decent job of blocking wind.
That looks pretty good.
I've got the Hennessy reflective bubble pad, but I suspect yours could be collapsed down better, and it would certainly cover the shoulders more fully.
Out of curiosity, how do you think the foam based pads would compare to the bubble ones?
Nice!
Are those the Jumbo size reflectors? I like how you filled in the rear view cutout. What does it weigh?
I can't find a link, but I read that someone tested the two and preferred the foam backed reflector by a slight margin. Like yourself, my only experience is with the bubble reflector (Reflectix). Performance being marginal in both cases, but for warmer climates may be just the ticket.
Experience is the worst teacher - it presents the exam first and the lesson later. - Unknown
Yes those are the Jumbo/Magnums...
I have no idea how cold it will go... I may have to send it up north to get it tested.
as far as weight..... I will have to weigh it.

I use a similar window visor from walmart and have been down to the mid 40's and was quite comfortable. I had my clothes layered also so that helps. If i moved off of the pad I was instantly cold so it does make a huge difference. cheers
Hopefully by now you have had a chance to try it in the field... from your photos you chose open foam instead of closed foam - how well did it work and - what didn't you like?

Who continued to bother and howl;
He sat on a rail, And imbibed bitter ale,
Which refreshed that Old Man and his owl.WOO
