    Hello From S.E. Kansas

Just dropping in to say hello. I am just getting into backpacking and have been looking at the hang lifestyle. I found this place from Shug's Youtube channel. Hope to learn a few things along the way.

Welcome from Nebraska. However, my home town in SE Kansas was Cherryvale. Home of the Fighting Cherries, way back then.

I know Big Brutus! Been there a time or two. Grew up just northwest of you a few miles. Welcome to HF (and happy Thanksgiving)!

"I fish because I love to; because I love the environs where trout are found, which are invariably beautiful... because, in a world where most men seem to spend their lives doing things they hate, my fishing is at once an endless source of delight and an act of small rebellion; because trout do not lie or cheat and cannot be bought or bribed or impressed by power, but respond only to quietude and humility and endless patience...." --Robert Traver

What a small world, I have family in Cherryvale and my dad worked at the foundry in Coffeyville many years ago. I am originally from the east edge of the Flint Hills in Greenwood county. Thanks for the welcome.
