    What happened to my lay?

    BTW, happy Thanksgiving.
I hung my diy gathered end hammock w structural ridgeline this weekend. Usually, when I lay banana style I sink in the middle and the sides pull up high and taught. Yesterday that's exactly what happened

Today the middle was taught and the sides were loose and floppy. It was like laying on a 2x4. I had not changed anything. My ridgeline is adjustable. It had not changed, but I adjusted it and even took it off w no change.

I hung my other identical hammock and it was the same thing. The middle was hard and tight the sides loose and floppy. If I lay diagonal I was fine, but banana style was very different

    What up???

Possibly your height of your straps / connection on the tree, giving you a different angle.

With a structural ridge line it should be ok if height of suspensions distance between trees etc is off.

however I did look at those things. I think I am within normal parameters and close to 30 degrees

Weird. Did you try spreading the fabric out beneath you a bit? If you were laying on bunched up fabric in the middle, then I imagine that could happen.

I could spread out the fabric and lay diagonal, but if I lay banana style there was a hard line down the center The floppy sides did not bother me but it was an indication of something amiss

This thread is not what I thought it was going to be about.

Hmmm...my sorta serious suggestion...turn the hammock over "upside down" and try it. It MAY make a difference.

That worked for my Traveler a few months ago when I had the same problem.
