    winter camping warmup - WV, Dec. 9 - 11

    Hey all,

Before the January Mt. Rogers Hang, I plan to do a short trip in the Cranberry Wilderness to try out a few things. The long range weather forecast looks promising for the weekend of Dec. 9th - 11th, though a little warmer than I'd like. So far there hasn't been much snow, so the Highland Scenic Highway is still passable, which puts within reach the trailheads at 4000 ft.

Anyone want to come along? Exact itinerary is not yet set. Also this could be a one night trip for those who can't get there Friday.

I'll keep it on my radar since I need to try out my Hammock Gear Incubator and Burrow. However, the wife is finding all sorts of ways to thwart my hiking/camping plans.

I'll make sure to sleep upwind from you if I make it!

Right now it looks like I can do this WV. Fri-Sun, or a 1 night go.

Dang It! I just remembered I have something to attend on the 10th. Sorry, but I'm going to have to skip this one.

I’ll see what I can do... If I have to leave the dogs behind, it may be a no go.
