    Hello

    Hello All
I have been looking and learning from all of you for a while now.
I am a Scout leader here in the UK, I was introduced to Hammocks for camping by a friend in MI a couple of years ago, well now I have one to accompany me when I go Hiking and Canoeing.

I do need a bigger Tarp I think but so far so good.

Welcome from Texas! I started with an 8x8 tarp, moved to a 10x10, and have finally settled on a Kelty Noah's 12x12. Very happy with it.

    Greetings Beanie.

In case you don't know of him, I think you and Mat over at http://ukhammocks.co.uk/ will become closely acquainted.

    Have fun!

    Howdy folks
    Thank you for the welcome.

I have been eying up a 10 x 10 Tarp, but it will have to wait for a bit, the standard asym Hennessay Tarp will do me for this winter.

I missed out the bit where I claim to be slightly canadian having lived in Hamilton Ont, for a few years way back when.

My main interest is in a lash free setup at the moment, the lashings have never let me down but I would like a quicker setup and adjustment.

So I have been following the treads about whoopies and UCRs with interest. My local Scout Camp in in an Oak wood and apart from hanging there I stealth camp on the local river banks and woods.

Welcome to the forum Beanie. I am also a Scout leader. I spent a couple of years in the UK back in my military days (RAF Upper Heyford, Oxfordshire). Pretty sure you will see on the forum that Whoopie Slings are the way to go. Good luck on finding a tarp.
