My bad paul I didn't see the doors, I'm in the woods so phone limited on browsing. Now I really want one, but hard to justify another almost identical tarp, hmm.
I really like this mod. Great job Paul! I tried the pole thing with an equinox and the pole grommet tabs salvaged off a coleman dome tent. Ultimately I abandoned it because I didn't have a loop on the underside of the ridgline to secure the poles from flopping. You guys really thought outside the tarp on this one. I can see adding grommets to my superfly side pullouts but not so sure about sewing tiedowns to top of the ridgeline.

This is what I was thinking, because I don't want to sew anything onto my ridgeline of my tarp, running it so the pole goes over my CRL running over my tarp and securing it to that. This is definitely happening though. I hate the floppy middle you get when pulling the tieouts to a trekking pole.
I haven't tried it yet, but would using a little longer poles to cross like an "X" and then tied together at the center, solve the attachment to the ridgeline problem?

With our tarp...No as we don't have that problem with the way we designed ours to work Even in the event that the pole were to wear on the loop (which would be unlikely as there is no joint in the pole at the contact point,(another design point we covered) just smooth carbon fiber) we could replace the loop.
Though the X might work it would change a lot of the geometry that goes into the pitch of the tarp.
