In ancient Rome the pullarius was the keeper of the sacred chickens. Prior to a battle he would consult the chickens by trying to feed them - hungry chickens were a good omen. During the first Punic war, one general, unhappy with the portents, was reported to have ordered the chickens thrown overboard from the ship, saying "If they won't eat, let them drink." He subsequently lost the battle.

I just needed a username, so I went with something Latin.

Byrd is a nickname that I got in the USMC because I have two Macaw parrots tattooed on my back.

The Dyrty part got added when I rode my Harley with a group to Sturgis. At a hotel while checking in a little girl maybe 4 or 5 came up and asked why everyone was calling me "Byrd". She said that I stunk! Then proceeded to call me a "dirty bird"!

I even changed my plates on the Harley to "DRTYBRD".

Last Czarnian is another name for Lobo from DC comics. One of my favorite comics to read when I was a teenager.

It is my double-super secret, alternate, backup forum screen name. The name comes from the Jerky Boys character, Jocko Johnson.

ill try to keep this short. i got involved with two medieval groups MSR(Medieval Scenarios and Recreations) and the SCA(The Society for Creative Anachronism). a guy walk up to me at my first event and asked me my name. so i told him my real name. he said no your other name. i looked at him like he wasnt even there. he invited me to join him and his girl friend, i did. like others here i played AD&D. how hard can it be to think of a name. ten minutes later i came up with drel! jim said it wouldnt work, because it was more of a fantasy name. you need a real medieval name. eventually we found one for me. back to DREL my friend jimmy, at the second weekend of the fair the MSR held in port washington, ny. jimmy started yelling out drel, drel, drel and i looked over at him. he waved me over and said to me you like the name drel right? i said i do, why? he said use it as a nickname and here is the meaning behind it he said! DREL- Die Righteously, Eternal Life. to brake it down further- if you die fighting for what you believe in. you will have eternal life. my alter ego has bin with me ever since(22yrs). thats the nut shell version for ya. WEEEEEE-WHOOOOO!!!! see ya'll on the trails!!!
Not all who wander, are lost!!
