Question Feeler: East TN hang? Latitude:36.294409 Longitude:-83.298383

I'm a hanging noob and would really like to have a group hang in my neck of the woods in the spring so I figure I would see who all might be interested.

It is TVA land, only about 1 mile across and surrounded by lake. Someone else posted the Lat and Longi thing and I though it was a cool idea.

I'm just getting started with hanging but I'm not new to the outdoors. When were you thinking about?

An East TN hang is a great idea. Would you mind giving a layman's location for those of us without GPS, please. When are you thinking about doing it?

Us northerners invited? I take a trip to my beloved Smokies yearly, and meeting some of you guys from that general area would open me up to some new hiking partners in my beloved Smokies. I'd be up for a spring trip down there with enough lead time to plan a day or two off of work (It's about a 7 or 8 hour drive).

Did I mention I love the Smokies?

I usually go sometime in May, before it gets too hot and the crowds of people show up en masse.

Never done a group hang there, the reservation system might complicate things for it.

Desiel, what are the regs for the TVA land you posted up? Any permits required, reservations, etc?

i am a noob as well and not sure my ground gear would keep me warm hanging in the winter months. I would definitely be interested in a ET hang this spring.
