ENO Singlenest vs GT Ultralight vs Trek Light Single

Does anyone have an opinion between the following 3 hammocks?

    ENO SingleNest: http://www.rei.com/product/754769/en...lenest-hammock
    Grand Trunk Ultralight: http://www.rei.com/product/815061/gr...le-special-buy
    Trek Light Single Hammock: http://www.treklightgear.com/catalog...mmock-5p17.htm

I have an ENO ProNest and it is just a little too short for me (I'm 5'10"). I plan on giving it to my girlfriend (she's 5'3"). I want to get a slightly longer hammock for myself.

This is supposed to be a minimalist, throw in the daypack, climbing bag, etc, hammock. I have a Warbonnet for real camping.

That being said, I don't want a hammock made of tissue paper.

    Thanks,
    Sean

Having had to choose amongst the 3 myself once before, I went with the ENO. They all comparable as far as construction quality. Color and price is what sold me on the ENO. I'd say whichever one you find the best deal on, go with it.

Ya, I was looking at the specs a bit more. Green = best in class. red = worst in class.

    ENO SingleNest
    Length: 118"
    Width: 55"
    Weight: 18 oz
    Capacity: 400 lbs

    Trek Light Single Hammock
    Length: 120"
    Width: 60"
    Weight: 16 oz
    Capacity: 400 lbs

    Grand Trunk Ultralight Travel Hammock
    Length: 114"
    Width: 54"
    Weight: 12 oz
    Capacity: 250 lbs

ENO ProNest (added to show what I'm coming from)
    Length: 96"
    Width: 54"
    Weight: 12.8 oz
    Capacity: 400 lbs

It looks like the GT uses lighter weight materials & is the smallest but weighs the least. The ENO weighs the most but is smaller & heavier than the Trek Light.

Since I'm buying a new one (upgraded from the ENO ProNest) due to size issues I think I'm going to go with the Trek Light. It appears to be the best compromise.

If anyone has had any particular problems with the Trek Light, please let me know.

    Thanks,
    Sean

I have a Trek Light double and love it. No problems with construction. Like the feel of the fabric, and they have quite a few colors to choose from. I tried a WBBB & Traveler, but couldn't find my sweet spot in either, so I sold them and went back to my Trek Light.

I am surprised by the dimensions. I have an Eno SLN and think it is too short, but I also have the GT Ultralight and love it. I am 5'10 also. That is so strange, since the Eno is longer than the GT. I never tried the Trek Light.

I have the ENO single and the GT Ultralight.

I swapped out the stock suspension on both for whoopies. I can't remember exactly what the ENO weighs with whoopies, but I seem to remember it's 16 ounces. The GT-UL is 11 ounces.

The GT-UL is also much less expensive. I got mine on Amazon for under $15. I think I paid $50 for the ENO.

I'm 5'6 170 pounds, and I find both to be roomy and comfy. But, that being said, there's something about the GT-UL that is more comfortable and roomier feeling than the ENO. It might be that the GT-UL is constructed of one piece of fabric, while the ENO is constructed of 3. Neither are as comfy as my DIY hammock, but it's not likely that you can make one for as little as you can buy the GT-UL.

If I had to choose between the ENO and the GT-UL, it would be the GT-UL.

    Peace,
    David

Don't put too much stock in published specs. I don't think there is any deliberate intent to deceive, but I have yet to find a hammock that measured out to advertised dimensions. I suspect those are cut sizes, and further suspect that the cut and sews in the far east shave a cm here and there when they can.

Weights include suspensions, which could account for some of the weight differences.

If one doesn't take the specs as gospel it basically comes down to the following (imo).

The GT-UL is made of a lighterweight material. The Trek Light & ENO are very similar.

I think I want to go for the heavier material (more durability... hopefully). So in that case perhaps it will just be whatever I can get the best price for / what color scheme I like the best.
