Wink Video: Fronkey and Kiba: The Quest for Cold

Kiba and I are at it again. It's been unusually warm here in Mn so we decided to head on north to find some colder weather. ArcsandSparks from the forums came along too for a fun romp in the woods. We ate Porterhouse steaks, messed around with the zip cam and tested out a lot of new gear. I think I'm all ready for the frozen butt hang next week. Thanks for watching!

    New Gear:

    Hammockgear 20F Top quilt
    DIY tarp with doors
    Diaz tools rana neck knife
    Sierra trading post down mocassins

Nice video! I wanna camp with Fronkey so I can get a porterhouse!!

I think it's awesome that you have Kiba in the hammock with you, I've seen that in one of your previous vids, but I've always wondered about something. Is it any worry that her nails will rip the fabric? My little buddy Dixie is almost exactly Kiba's size and I would love to take her on the trail with me, but I'm worried about her nails putting us both on the ground and ruining my hammock!

Oh zipcam how I love you and hate you at the same time! The porterhouses were pretty stellar though...Tell Kiba she has a spot in my hammock anytime! LOL
Just when I thought you couldn't possibly be any dumber, you go and do something like this... and totally redeem yourself!

Really liked the improvisation, those kinds of tips are always good to know. And the porterhouse looked really good also. Thanks for sharing the video.

Nice vid, nice tarp, nice steak! Should have made the tarp manufacturer drive out and fix-it for you, oh wait, it was a DIY. Better hope I never have trouble w/my new hammock. Wed. TZ and I should hit -10F in Finland. Cya at the hang.

Fun out in the cold. I used to have a pup to camp with. My old friend passed on, but watching your vid brought back some good memories.

I love how hammock camping lends itself perfectly to improvization. I too have had to do some quick modifications in the field without any negative outcome to the trip. Good for you to keep thinking on your feet.

P.S. thanks for the Diaz tools cameo. Cool wrap! It's fun to see the diferent wraps that folks use for those neck knives.

BTW> when you comin' out to the Pacific NW to hang?
