    my winter tarp

I am making a 12x10 rectangular winter tarp.
What distance from the edge should I make the tie outs? I'm thinking to make at 3' from each side. For the tie out loops I am using grosgrain or should I add D rings?

On my diy winter dream i made the tie-outs about 41" from the edges. I think adding D-rings is a matter of personal preference, I just added them on for cosmetic reasons. This thread should help you decide..... http://www.hammockforums.net/forum/s...ad.php?t=15080

I think mine are about 2' in on either side on my tarp. It depends if you get claustrophobic or not. Think of it this way. The further you go in the bigger your doors will be. But, this means that you'll have a narrower shelter when you close everything up. I think 2' is adequate on mine, if you can sacrifice the length then I think 3' would work as well.
