FL - Last second LWRSF hang

Weekend plans fell through so I'm going to do a short hike and hang this weekend on the Arbuckle tract of the Lake Wales Ridge State Forest. Leave Saturday morning from Rucks Dairy Road (Frostproof area) at 9 a.m. Not exactly sure yet where the camping will be but it will be near a water source. The hike in will be 3-4 miles tops. Back out Sunday afternoon.

Let me know if you are definitely coming but I won't wait around too long for stragglers.

Sorry you can't make it but we'll have fun for you and take a few pics to prove it. The site has been selected (our lakeside campsite) and reserved. Plenty of great spots to hang, firewood for a campfire, and wonderful weather.

I may bring the girls out just to walk in to the creekside camp site and have a look around. And then depending on how they are with it, walk down to the lakeside and have lunch and then walk back out. Don't wait around but I do plan to meet you at 9 to walk in.

We might be hiking in from a different area but will be there at 9 to meet up with you either way. So far it is just Islander and I that are going to make it.

    See you in the morning!

I will go up to the north to sign in and get my mirror hanger. Meet you there and then I'll see where you are gonna hike in from and we will probably join.

Islander and I had a great hang this weekend. The weather was perfect and when we were hiking out today we stopped at the site of next months hang next to the creek. As we were standing there talking an otter came out of the woods on the other side of the creek and went swimming.

Here is Islander along the trail on our way out...

A little video that I shot in the morning at our camp site:

Dave, is that truck behind Islander the one that the grader ran over back in November?
