thinking of making my own quilts

    Dia dhuit,
So I've been thinking of making my own top quilt and underquilt. I've been reading the threads on the primaloft loose fill. I'm just about ready to bite the bullet and order everything, but....How important would it be to have down proof fabric if I'm using a down alternative? I have some taslan left over that I had made my hammock out of and I was planning on using that.
Also this whole baffle thing is well baffling to me? I guess I'm just not grasping how you attach it all together. I've read through the sticky's and what not, but I don't know. It's just not sinking in. Any thoughts there would be great.

    Thanks!

If you're using primaloft you will need to use down proof fabric. You can also get primaloft in sheet form from therainshed.com (this still requires down proof fabric). You will need to quilt the sheet form, but it's not that hard to do. Do an advanced search for primaloft and search for posts by puckerfactor. There are several threads about working with primaloft and he seems to have some of the best input regarding the stuff. Good luck with your quilts!
