    Guyline/ridgeline tensioning tool

I designed and made this little tool today. I can supply these at £24.99 including P&P or you could make one from an old tent peg in about 5 minutes...

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sKc53tgmxmQ

To make it, take a normal tent peg, the type that is a straight piece of wire with a single bend in it. Clamp in a vice so you can put a further bend in the head (short bit). A bit more than 90º should do. Then put a 90º bend in the long part of the peg in-line with the original bend and voila!

I'm sure Dutch will be along with a titanium version in a moment...

Thanks, just copied it directly from the BCUK forum where it worked fine.

I've since discovered you can twist multiple times for greater tension

nice work spandit, just ordered a nite ize figure 9 locally but this is surely worth a shot!

i was convincing myself i could use a nite ize knotbone on each end of my tarp ridgeline, but it was still a bit of a hassle...

Can you make multiple wraps if you want more tension?

WOW! Just joined HF (finished my registration process tonite) and already an answer to one of my many questions.

This is so much better than where my mind was trying to go. (Does the term 'fence stretcher' ring a bell?)

I'm gonna love it here, thanx.
