I looked at this pattern for an idea thanks to JohnSawyer.

I added a couple inches to the perimeter to match my foot size(11) and it worked out great.

Also, I made double of everything so I could make the pattern work with down. Overall I found it a lot easier than I thought and I plan on making another pair for winter camping.

I made this to go with three season because they weigh less then my normal sleep socks and are more comfy.

Great! Now I have to wipe my browser history so the wife doesn't see this.

Epic work. I can't count the number of times I've wished I were wearing down slippers and not just regular socks Sad moments indeed.

Looks like some great boats I mean socks. I made a blizzard fleece pair last week. They didn't come out nearly this nice. Stitching through 4 layers of blizzard fleece isn't too easy. Yours look great.

Geez! 4 layers would be a pain in the butt. Make some of the down socks. They were really easy and very light and cheap.

So is it one big chamber that the down is in, or is it divided up with baffles or sewing-through?

I'm definitely interested in making these. They seem a lot less heavy and bulky than my wool socks.

Looking warm! Warm feet makes me happy.
I cut rip stop from a pattern to make down booties
and there it sits waiting to get sewn.

It is two seperate pieces. One for the sole and the other for the rest of the sock.

There are no baffles as it's such a small space the down won't shift much. If you want I can take some photos of the template I made so you can see how I did it.

They are really toasty. I wore them in my house last night until I started to sweat.

Sew yours up so your feet can be warm and comfy!
