Trip Report: Eastern Great Lakes Hang - Feb 2012 - Snowshoes across Algonquin

Just got back from a great trip in the backwoods of Ontario's Algonquin Provincial Park. (Planning thread)

Great company, snowshoeing, fires and brutal nightly lows made this a trip to remember!

    Much more to follow...

We Will Be Doing this again for sure!

Just a quick thanks to all for making this a great hang! As in the past, I found pushing myself to my limits very rewarding and satisfying.

Three Days of winter on Swan Lake

Heading north in search of our noticeably absent “Canadian Winter”, we found a challenging yet beautiful wonderland just off the shores of Swan Lake in Algonquin. This trip is one we’ve been preparing for, for a long time, I had high expectations and I was not disappointed. I want to thank my Camp mates for an awesome time, I couldn’t have been in the company of a finer group of Kindred Spirits. Also a "Cap-in-hand" thanks to Chard for organizing this campaign, another success for the book my friend!.

I took a lot of shots and still working through them but here’s the keepers so far (first of 3 sets)

Curious....anyone use Pulk Sleds? What were some examples of pack weight?

Looks like a great trip. We just did an overnighter in upstate NY with a little snow. Love camping in the snow...so beautiful in the piney woods. Thanks for sharing.
