WBBB Ridgeline length - has anyone changed from std?

I just can't help tinkering with my set-up and have swapped the std. RL for an Adjustable RL. I've set it and marked the line at the std. BB length and will have a go at tweaking it a little to see if it makes any difference. Now I'm still a novice, so it'll have to be trial and error.

Has anyone changed their BB RL length? By how much and for what reason? Did it work out? I'd be interested in any failed attempts too which might save me some time.

There isn't much talk of changing BB RL length, so I'd imagine Brandon has it pretty much perfect. I can see me putting the std one back on without any adjustment.

    Thanks

    Mark

Yes, many people have changed it, and many of those ended up with the original length. Brandon has it pretty much nailed!

I experimented with a couple different lengths on the hammocks I just made, and I gotta say Brandon definitely has the correct length for the BB...

Thanks raiffnuke, I tend to learn these things the hard way, but it does give me an excuse to hang for a while. I need little encouragement!

You might want to make a short Amsteel loop for one end, shorten your RL just a little and add a Dutch biner or any other quick release method, so that you have a removable RL for when you are lounging. Just make sure to take a few measurements so that the final length is the same as the original RL.

I replaced the ridgeline in mine with an adjustable one. Took it to a local park (my testing area) and spent half the morning adjusting the length, getting in, getting out, adjusting again, getting in again,..... Finally I nailed it!!! Got out my tape measure and measured the exact same length the the WBBB shipped with

I used Zing-it cord and made it like a whoopie sling. It's a bit lighter, strong enough and easily adjustable. The adjustments are very small increments, nothing really big; but it will make a difference. You have to fine tune it.

My ASRL from Whoopsieslings.com is thinner than the stock BB RL. I'm not sure if it's lash-it or just a thinner gauge amsteel. It's fitted to the hammock now, so I'll have a go at fine tuning to see if there is any noticeable difference.

    Thanks
