    maybe a Canadian chapter forum?

everyone has been very generous and kind with their replies, awesome!

but, for us Canadians some "local" knowledge in a specific section, could be useful .....

still, this is an awesome forum with very polite helpful members, whatever the decision is.

The beauty of us all being in a mixing pot is one of HF's most likeable traits. If there is something specific you are looking for, drop us a line - I'd love to help!

    Part of the soup

I think that for hammocking I like being part of the soup and being mixed in with everything/everyone else. I think that sites like myccr.com give enough regional flavour for my outdoor endeavours.

However, one area i feel left out the mix is having a range of suppliers to good local materials for DIY. If it weren't for MEC, Fabricland and The Chandlery Online I'd be lost.

I actually still buy from Scott at DIYgearsupply.com. He works with me on figuring out the proper shipping and what not. I do miss out on the pay it forward (seems like a hassle for most to send my way though I have not tried) and items such as that. Also, a little more difficult for our southern neighbours to send out sold items out this way but many are totally willing (and thanks for that!).

I do tend to reference this USPS page when they need pricing to send out our way. Has been helpful - here.

Personally, I think the "melting pot community" that is Hammock Forums manages to keep a nice international flavour. I'm always seeing posts about questions or hangs from around the globe, and they're almost always useful or interesting (sometimes even both). Finally, I've always found the search engine a really great way to drill in on specifics.

    Just my 2 cents

There is so little activity down here that it would likely be a waste of space to have an Eastern Canada section. Personally I like reading the posts from everywhere, although there are quite a few if you miss a few days!

    Hey hammock hunter,

There are not enough Canadians here that post often enough to have a separate section. I think that it is fine the way it is to see how everyone is doing things in their own area. Sometimes we have different items available to us but we always find a way to get what we need.
    Take care,
