    Question Ridgeline questions

Just a question to anyone that might know. When I set up my Blackbird 1.1 the ridgeline seems to be very tight. No matter how slack the suspension is . Are my connections to the gathered end messed up ? I did undo the loop with the d-ring type things when I first got the hammock. (whoops) And re-attached them .Perhaps they are wrong. Anyway, thanks for the help. craig

If you find two trees that are just a few feet further apart than the hammock is long, then attach your tree huggers as high as you can reach on the tree, you should be able to make the hammock ridgeline go limp.

Lengthening the suspension will loosen the ridgeline and shortening it will tighten your ridgeline. Once you have the ridgeline where you want it, raise or lower the attachment points on the trees to give you a comfortable distance from the ground i.e chair height.

Crag, think of it this way. If you have a piece of string in your hands, and you let it droop into a U shape, that simulates " lengthening your tree straps (suspension.) That will loosen your ridge line.

That's about as simply as I've seen it explained.

HOME RUN, perfectly explained ! I believe I was "over thinking " the whole idea. That makes sense. Bubba was correct, I just couldn't visualize it. Should be set now. Thanks, Craig
