    Question Is this Silnylon?

I've never seen a silnylon before so I'm not sure what fabric this is. Got this for $2/yard and it's 100% waterproof. I tested it by pouring water(about 4L) into it creating a water bag. I pressed it and held it for about 15 minutes. It stood up to my water testing, not one drop got through.

Is it really slippery? Silnylon is very slippery. Sure looks like the right stuff.

Whatever it is it looks like a bargain for $2 a yard - nice find.

It's amazingly slippery and it feels like a stiff sheet of plastic but strong.

No frays on cut edges except on the raw side edges (as seen on the first and last photo)

If you look closely, those Frays are really just the untrimmed selvedge... from the manufacturing process. There are probably tooth marks from the machinery, too...

If it feels like plastic, it's likely sil! Nice find! I hope you bought it all...

Worst case, send a scrap to somebody who has some sil... or I could mail you a scrap of Sil that I have for comparison. Knotty, that goes for you, too...

That'll be cool. .....Thanks but I think it would be a bit expensive to ship here.

I have a cousin here on vacation and will be going back to the US in the next few weeks or so. I'm planning on getting more and have him bring some of it and some diy stuffs. I'd like to give away and raffle it off here in HF. Just my little way of giving back to this great community. ....also getting myself a donating member status pretty soon. woot!
