Looks like some fun times!
The kids are at sleep away camp so the wife & I backpacked to Murphy Lake in the southern Adirondacks. Hung two nights in a lean-to overlooking the lake, which at night we shared with only the bullfrogs and skeeters! Oh, and our dog. We had stellar weather the entire time.
It was my wife's first true hang and she did fair. My daughter's trail name is Wiggle. I think she gets it from my wife. My wife was in the ATHH that a lot of us tested recently. I didn't remember it being so "crinkly" but she sure got it to make plenty of noise every time she moved around. She woke up with a slightly stiff back and attributed it to the hammock until I reminded her she had complained about it on the car ride up and at the end of the 3.5 mile hike in. Then it came out that she had been tense all night because she thought she was going to get cold like she had the first night (she didn't). The good thing is she hasn't given up on hammocking.
Oh, and I got her back for waking me up with her wiggling and asking me to get up in the middle of the first night to help her arrange her things in the hammock. The second night I got up to answer the call of nature without warning her - I was in a Hennessy and just let the velcro rip with both feet! Actually wasn't trying to scare her but, boy, did I! I must admit it was a little loud to me even. Have to get the zipper mods soon.
Had dinner with my family and spent the rest of the weekend packing (I'm working on buying my first house).

4 days in the smokies with a couple great friends. Only down side was one night on the ground unexcpeted after my webbing broke. Mr Dickel made that tolerable.
Is that too much to ask? Girls with frikkin' lasers on their heads?
The hanger formly known as "hammock engineer".
would that be MR George Dickle?

Friday I went to a big shindig that my wife's family was having in Eastern Kentucky. Nothing like 40 people, almost all drunk (besides the kids), shooting off fireworks, especially when you are the only sober adult out of the bunch
I did spend a nice impromptu night in my hammock.

I took my family to the Alderson, West Virginia 4th of July parade while visiting my in-laws, who live in Hinton.
Next weekend I'm car camping with my niece and nephew (and my kids) at Hanging Rock State Park, NC.
Still trying to finish my niece's hammock in time. Wish me luck.

I was on call all this weekend so I couldn't go far! Worked untill 2 Fri and then went to a friends for some BBQ and fireworks then worked all day sat then and then......Got a great idea! It was calling for some serious thunder storms so I set up my hammock in the back yard as I have been having trouble getting it set up right since I am all new to this and rode the storm out for about 2 hrs! It was great...no water in the hammock this time! Experiminted with a couple of differant pad and bag combinations and such. I had a ball!! Started to call in sick today as I was having way to much fun!
Darn Neo- I just posted what i did this 4th before I saw you post. Sounds like we did similiar things.
