I'll check my hammock next time I set it up. Actually it will be Thrusday when my hammock stand comes. I saw a stop that concerned me last time. It looked to be wearing a little thin close to one of the edges. I am not sure if that was a zipper or just use. I only spent 3 nights and a few backyard practice hanging in it.

I was planning on switching hammocks for my thru for this reason.

I wonder if you could use a waterproof zipper similar to what is on my golite rain jacket. It does not look to have the bite that other zippers do. You could try to recess the zipper inside of the jacket a little.

i know people do it, but i'm wondering how risky it is in the long run.
The lighter and thinner the hammock bottom, the riskier the zipper is IMHO...

Does zelcro have a fabric slider? Might be good for attaching the zugnet, too.
