    Howdy from Newport, Maine

[COLOR="SeaGreen"]Howdy everyone! My name is Kristina, aka Kriterr, and I am new to this forum. My husband, Mark, and myself are considering getting into backpacking hammock style. We have been tent/car campers for many years now and have always dreamed of getting into backpacking to expand our horizons, but were leary of sleeping on the ground as we are kinda on the fluffy side. In our tent now, we sleep on cots. When we heard about hammock camping we really got excited because we do love to be in hammocks. We have a big rope hammock on a stand on our deck at home and we also have a different type of nylon hammock that we hang from trees that we take camping with us. We've never actually spent the night in one of our hammocks, but can picture it well. We find our hammocks comfy and we are in them constantly. Sometimes when camping and my husband goes off to work during the day (when we are camping close to his job), I spent up to 12 hours hanging out mostly in the hammock napping and listening to podcasts. So I can fully see myself spending the night in a hammock as long as I have a bug net.... lol. My husband, Mark (Stragen), also has signed up for this forum site and we are anxious to learn anything that will help us better get into this hobby. We do not have children and Mark is blessed with long weekends off every week, so we can think of nothing better than getting into backpacking hammock style!!!!!/COLOR]

    Welcome from Florida.
My wife and I were hiking in Maine/New Hampshire this past February which we do every year. You have beautiful country up there; you definitely need to get out and enjoy it. I can't think of a better way than in a hammock!
