PM inbound.
I'll take it!
PM's replied.
Chunk's pending payment.
Gotta love the 2 hour turn around after posting! Thanks mates.
Umm, according to the rules first "I'll take it" post in the thread has first dibs, not PM's.... So I'm actually first in line....
Guidelines -
1. Always make an "I'll Take It" type post in the thread where the sale is advertised. This creates a public record of the intent. Posts *always* over-ride PM inquiries when there is a debate.
I'm new here, but it looks like the rule states that making a post in the thread saying that a PM is inbound would show intent. Furthermore, I believe that it would be up to the seller, not just because you said you were first in line by saying "I'll take it". He posted in the thread before you...looks to me like you may be out of luck.
My bad for not knowing the rules better. This is the first that I've been back on the board since getting a PM back from kiecker.
kiecker - I won't kick up a fuss on my end. If this needs to go to Dweller7 I can live with it. Just let me know if I should send payment or not.
A PM can be about anything, not just saying you want the item that's being sold. That's why you make a pubic statement like "I'll take it", "Dibs", "Mine", and so on to show intent to buy... PM inbound doesn't show intent to buy.
Hey guys,
'PM Inbound' does not convey intent to buy. It is often used when asking a question, or trying to send a 'lowball offer' or similar.
Asking questions to a seller via PM is fine. But unless you say 'I'll Take It, Pending Question', be prepared to get out-claimed on an item by someone that doesn't have a question. Furthermore, it is up to the questioner to contact the seller right away, less he move on to an actual claim without question.
In this case, Dweller7 seems to have first dibs per his post. Chuck is second in line if Dweller7 passes.
