My daughter & I backpacked in the Wilson Creek Wild & Scenic (Pisgah N.F.) area this past weekend.
If you're not from the area, this is just northeast of Linville Gorge, and south of Grandfather Mountain.
My daughter gave the trip a big thumbs up.
We did lots of exploring the creek & swimming holes like a couple of 10 year-olds given free rein.
Timber Ridge left us windless more than expected. The elevation gain from the trail head to top wasn't bad, but the extra ups & downs along the way - whew!
And finding the trail at times became an adventure as we came to unmarked junctions that all looked well traveled.
Oh and we came across a snake - I think it's a copperhead. Can anybody verify it from the video?
I video'd the snake & some of the other shots with my GoPro mounted to a pole I took along, allowing me to get some different camera angles. (I had to assure my wife we weren't that close to the snake once she saw the footage).
Enjoy.
