    Vendor Forums Suggestion

For those of us who are noobs and are still researching it would be nice to have a sticky at the top of each vendor's forum with contact info, especially a link to a web site. Just a thought...

    I agree.

I've added all the vendors to my favorites for future reference, and it's worked out well when I'm looking for a certain item. With so many vendors making variants of the same item, it pays to do the research. Most of the cottage industry stuff here won't be on amazon, nor eBay (unless it's second hand) which is good, because small companies can focus on maintaining outstanding customer service. When you farm it out because your demand went up, you lose control.

I'm sure someone around these parts has a spreadsheet or two just for this.

If not, the moderators will have to edit the original posts, but still worth doing.

There is the list of vendors in the Forum section labeled Hammock Gear - Manufacturers and Services. They all have their webpages listed under their names.

That's the section I was referring to. I was suggesting a little more information within each vendor's sub-forum rather than a non-clickable link on the parent forum. Yes, I'm lazy...

Most of your cottage owners will also list their websites listed in their signature.

I think that is more a task for the vendors and owners than the Mods. They got their hands full as it is.
I may be slow... But I sure am gimpy.

If you happen is use firefox as your browser, you can highlight a non clickable link, right click on it and open it in a new tab or window. A little effort on your part will go a long way to your hammock happiness.

Same in Chrome...right click, search with Google....sometimes it's faster then finding the bookmark.

However, I've often thought it would be nice to have their link sticky'd. The vendors could post their link but it would disappear down the page. It takes a mod to make it a sticky.

I was actually looking for Forum Sponsor links today... I know other niche forums have links which provide a small kickback to the forum if you order anything. Even if the merchant can't offer a kickback, at least it demonstrates how valuable the forum is in supporting the vendor.
