    ^ Seconded, I can do an 11lb load with my entry level gear for a summer trip. I was surprised when I weighed all my gear... I'm looking at roughly $100 per pound to keep shaving weight, and it goes up from there.

    I have noticed too, once one gets the weight down, each additional ounce has a tendency to get really pricey!
