    Welcome from Florida.
Take your time and do lots of reading here on the forums. Its all very educational and entertaining. At first you head will spin, but you will become a hammock expert in no time. And definitely watch all of Shug's instructional videos on hammocking. You'll have to watch them multiple times because you will miss half the material due to laughing.

Colin; welcome to the forum. You should check out Bushcraft UK as well as there are allot of hangers there and they'll be able to assist you on local hangin spots and gear you can get in your part of the world.

Glad to see you over here wanting to get yourself off the hilly ground in your area of the planet. For those that don't know, Colin has a great youtube channel with all kinds of bushcraft, gear review and hiking videos. His channel name is the same as his user name. Go check him out.

    Cheers

Welcome from MD, I've always wanted to visit Scotland looks like a beautiful country and I am sure it is.

And a side note, I just adopted a Carine Terrier like 3 days ago, I know completely random but they are from the Scottish Highlands.

Hiking is'ent about waiting for the storm to pass its about learning to hike in the rain.
