    1/16" Shock cord

I paid $1.70 CAD for 5yds of 1/16" shock cord from Walmart today. Picked some up for the Gear hammock/camp chair/pack cover. I remember a post asking where to find the stuff but I can't seem to find it. Probably not worthy of it's own thread but what the heck, might come in handy for someone

Thanks, was just about to order some off eBay. What section of Walmart is it in? In with the camping stuff?

I also found some over at Joannes over by the bra strap section.

And at Michaels over by the grommets.

    10' for 1.90 or something.

You were looking for camping gear stuff in the bra strap section?

Taking that kilt thing a bit far aren't we?

I believe you can order it at simplylightdesigns.com in 3 sizes including 1/16. I ordered some recently. Just indicate how much you want.

    They ship SUPER fast too.

Since lightweight and ultra camping gear stuff (heck, even 'good' gear) is scarcer thans hens' teeth to find up here, we learn to look for it anywhere we can!

And we learn to improvise a whole lot too!!

How does 1/16 shockcord hold up, can it keep a UQ up? I typically use 3/16 on my DIY stuff... just curious... sounds better than the $0.20 I pay at the Recreational Outlet, if it holds weight and UV.

I got mine to keep .344 tent poles together. I don't know if it'd be good enough to support a UQ.. maybe a summer??
