Suspension question - nx-250
I'm on my phone and the search function doesn't seem to be working right for some reason. What suspension are you using with the nx-250? I've read a bunch about straps, whoopies etc., but I'd love to hear your suggestions regarding the best choice for the easiest/fastest hang with this hammock.
Just the two pieces off string supplied with it. But i want to keep things simple.
Im using whoopies, attached to tree straps via a caribeener. Its about as fast as you can get. Put up the straps, hook the whoopie to the strap, tug whoopie to adjust length.
I just didn'tlike the looks of the stock CJH
suspension. Personal preference I guess.
Converted it to AHE cinch buckles & straps with 'biner closures at tree, and it worked pretty well. Was given a set of whoopies, tried them and while they are much more compact than the straps I find them slower to set and adjust.
So, I am back to straps. Planning on staying that way for the foreseeable future.
BTW, the CJH is very easy to change suspensions due to the sewn tunnel. Experiment and have fun.
A continuous loop in each end, an elephant trunk on a strap, a biner to fasten around tree.
As Jsaults said, personal preference.
I just got an NX-250 and switched right away to web and buckles with carabiners. Only slightly heavier than whoopies and tree straps but all pieces stay together and adjustment is super easy. Only downside is they are a little bulkier and it is a little more fiddling to pack the straps separate from the hammock if desired.
I have the NX-150. Same hammock but slightly smaller.
Whoopis to Marlin Spike Hitch on nylon straps at tree.
Super quick,......and easy!
