This is my thought behind making a jacket that converts into a top quilt. I think it could work and your carring a jacket anyways.

I bring that up again in the hopes that someone will pick up the idea, design, build, and then post directions. Its going to be next winter before I can run with this.
Is that too much to ask? Girls with frikkin' lasers on their heads?

Don't you have a NS already? I thought that was the purpose of the convertible quilt...?

I want a top quilt. Wait I have one of those for summer. I guess just for fun and to see if it works. I think it could lighten my load a little.

No Sniveller works as well as a top quilt as it does as an underquilt.

Really? That is interesting! I had wondered about both of those problems with that combination.

To be clear - the Nest goes OUTSIDE the SuperShelter in that setup. The Nest will compress and get full of moisture if you put it between the SuperShelter and hammock.

I don't have enough experience with hanging in the summer to go without any bottem insulation. I would still use my nest for that.

I think that is going to be one of the last things I replace with a DIY quilt. Not because I think there is anything wrong with it. I just want to at some point have a complete setup that I made. I like the idea of the independence behind it.
