    Grizz (aka - ProfessorHammock on YT) has a great solution that I use. Check out his video here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2sUfGqudl_8

    He calls it a "Blocking End Whipping Knot". The actual description of tying it is at 3:33 - 6:28 this allows you to snug down your loop so it doesn't fall off while adjusting your lie and also prevents the accidental loss of your loop.
