Tree straps: How long would you figure?

OK, if I figured out the picture thing, just how long would you figure for a good tree strap for this baby? Hint: I measure 75 inches fingertip to fingertip.

Perfect I was going to start a thread like this I am planning a trip to oregon and was toying with the idea of getting straps long enough for a redwood. not to sleep in just to hang for a picture. I like the first guess, i was thinking of getting some like 40 footers.

    This comes up repeatedly.

You would do better to have one or two extensions than to commit to straps or whoopies that were long enough. Straps? To stay comletely kosher, just bring along a second pair as extensions to your first

How do you find 2 of those within 15' of each other?

I would say, climb it and hang from the first couple of branches that fit the bill. I agree, I think 35' would be about right. For visitors, I would think 50' of Mule Tape would work for extensions. 2 pieces 25' long. I just mailed 50 to someone, and it weighed 10 ounces, so it wouldn't add that much to the load.
