I've used them and they are ok but I say stick with the rings and webbing. In terms of strength they are fine (I'm 250lbs) but the Byer rope is not as good for trees as webbing and adjustment is not as easy and fast as your current set up IMO.

Thanks for the quick reply. I am a newbie and no matter what I get a ton of stretch I am using 1" ratchet strap webbing that I had lying around
I also have been testing in my yard and the trees are big dia oak about 17 feet apart

If you are getting a lot of stretch your webbing is probably nylon. Pick up some polyester webbing from one of the vendors here or online from somewhere like Strapworks.com or even another set of ratchet straps from a hardware store. As long as they are polyester you'll have virtually no stretch.

You need a hosting site for your pictures or upload them to an album you can create here. So no stretch with the new webbing?

Looks good JB! Did you try different ridgeline lengths? What length is it? New webbing not stretching?

I have about 110" of ridgeline currently using a truckers hitch knot to make it adjustable. I have about 20-30 degrees of sag in my adjustability with this length of Amsteel

I found more sag in my ENO to be more comfortable. I used to use a 100" ridgeline (don't use a RL anymore) and found that range was best for me but I'm a big, short guy. YMMV. Happy hanging JB!
