    The entire bottom edge is hemmed (all 7 1/2 yds of it ). The vertical edges of the apron could be hemmed, but I chose grosgrain for visual effect. Also, then finished top length is a single piece waistband, sort of like adding a large piece of binding.

    Hiking Kilt for Backpacking

    I have this on my DIY list for this winter. I purchased the material right after getting back from a backpacking trip this summer, I just need to take the time to make it. It appears though it may only be for solo trips. I'm not sure I can convince anyone in the family to be seen with me in a kilt. At least is makes the hammock obsession seem more normal.

    Hey, just tell them it takes a 'Real Man' to wear a kilt!
