New Trail in Minnesota

Check out St Louis River Trail Association page on facebook. These guys are in process of developing new hiking trail along St. Louis River in northern Minnesota. I've been down there it's an awesome area with beautiful scenery. Please look at page, has lots of photos, and "LIKE" page to show support. They have a lot of work ahead of them.

I'm really excited for his trail. It's timing is great btw with the superior hiking trail being finished this month.

So how many miles will it be & when do they think it will be ready to use?

This is what they posted yesterday;

Our "Phase I" plans call for an initial 36-mile section to be completed in two years. We expect to have the first five mile section open late-summer or early fall of this year. We are just finalizing the agreements with the DNR and McDavitt Township now.

Our long-term plans call for a 200 mile trail from Cloquet to Seven Beaver Lake.
