I'm hoping this winter we will hear from some users pushing various AHE quilts to their maximum ( or minimum ) whatever that is. Based on my experience with Climashield in weights from 2.5 oz per sq.yd to 6.3 oz.sq.yd, it just seems to me that these quilts- which use 6 oz(per sq.yd) wt. CS - are rated extremely conservative.

Then again, there are many elements involved in an UQs warmth other than the insulation inside it, things having to do with fit and seal and draft resistance and compression of loft ( IOW dif cut ). So I am looking forward to seeing how far folks can push these quilts- rated to only 30F - this winter. Get to it, boys and girls!

Got any pictures of that? What does it accomplish?

No sorry i don't, I used NR uq without and set it up as designed, even had someone snug after i was in, still as i moved around in night I'd get cool air in spots, (temp in 50's with breeze) not bad , but noticeable and "if colder" I think would have been worrisome, the following nigh, lower temp, but using the bungees with plastic hooks he made, it snuggled up on me just like you'd like, and did so well, became over warm, I'm 6'4" 225, and using a dangerbird. What i really liked was they do not interfere or get in way of hammock or tie outs. He gave them to me last year , but didn't get around to using them till this last 3 days. OG just fig it out as he often does, btw, one thing i really appreciate is I can leave attached without being in the way. jim

Thanks. I'll have to query the Gringo.

    Cheers,

    New River vs Jarbridge

It does fight getting back in the sack...

After taking a closer look at these pics and reading more about the 2 quilts I think I am going to go with the jarbridge with extra fill to save a little money- any idea in the size difference between these 2 UQs when compacted?
