I am fairly new myself and from what I have gathered people are switching to whoopies to 1. To save weight 2. Easy adjustment 3. nobody wants something that is "stock"!! I bought some amsteel and made my own whoopies mostly to see why they were so great and I don't regret it a bit.
Well...got my hammock today and, being the newb that I am...didn't realize until now that it doesn't come with any suspension at all! What a loser, I guess i am gonna try the whoopie all in one system from jrb after all!
Oh man, that stinks! I'll be practicing my setup this weekend just in the park across from home. I don't think you'll regret the Whoopies, I'm thinking of getting one for my tarp ridgeline, but I need to research that some more first.

Yea, there's not a whole lot of places to experiment in the Phoenix area with our lack of trees!
What are the thoughts out there on tri glides vs whoopie sling setup like the jrb all in one? I like the simplicity of the tri glides and they are lighter, but wondering if the adjustability of the system is worth it?
Well...finally ordered some suspension! Went with dutch hooks, whoopies, and tree strap setup from Dutch. Arrived super quick...it seems like only 2 business days!? Crazy fast, thanks man. Don't have trees for it in my yard or nearby since I live in the desert, but hammock and suspension only weigh 8.5 oz on my park tool dig scale. I love the simplicity and incredible weight. Oh, and the suspension fits in the attached stuffsack on the nano
