Just orderd a baker's dozen for x-mas. thanks to everyone 4 the great intel.

A couple friends are volleyball players thus have to duck into every door they enter. If someone was 6'8-6'10, is there anyway to get them comfortable in the 60x126?

Maybe... Wouldn't be much different than a 6' person being comfortable in a 7-8' hammock...

It's a difficult vague question but Brute is right. If this person, or persons, like and can get comfortable in a hammock, why not in a 10' hammock? Rule of thumb I try to use is person's height plus 4', but that's just a general rule.

Some people can fold up anywhere, some people can't sleep in any hammock of any size.

No real answer I'm afraid, but there ya go. Like I tell folks, if it doesn't work, you still have a tablecloth.

Clark and Hennessey didn't try for years to limit their sales by saving just a few $ in material costs making 8' long hammocks that were too short for most people.

So, if 8' hammocks were long enough for a lot of people, 10' should be long enough for most of those for whom shorter size was definitely the issue.

    My First...

Was a little nervous with the maiden voyage of my first homemade whoopies, a tablecloth hammock, 2 dogs and 360lbs of peoples but it held up well. I've never owned a hammock like this, I really love it.

Temps are getting down to 32 tonight and will give it a whirl. I found the commercial hammock stand on Craig's List for $30 today. You can't raise the straps on it high enough for some decent slack though.

Palm trees. I miss palm trees.
Put a ridge line on and that will help give you the right sag. Looks good.

Set up an adjustable Dyneema ridgeline on this DIY hammock and found a very fine margin of getting the proper sag and touching the ground on this commercial stand. I have to really stretch the Amsteel Whoopies tight against a the ridgeline. I think the 1/8" Amsteel all the way across would be safer. We'll see...

We live in a very old neighborhood and rental house, our house has both a swamper and A/C. A/C bills in Vegas push $400 but your right, when it's humid out forget it, most of time its dry.
