    Seems to me the problem would be getting the fabric attached up in the canopy of the tree in the first place. Might as well just climb it.

    elcolombianito is from Colombia, where the canopy is a little different than say, NC, WI, CO, or PA. It might work there, but as you say, why not just climb the tree, using ropes? Maybe the fabric doesn't leave burns when you slip? Or it could serve double-duty as your hammock as well? 100 feet of silk would make a pretty cool hammock, and you'd look stylish swinging through the trees on a chartreuse bolt!

    I bet you could get wicked flat in a 100' long silk hammock. Not too keen on the chartreuse, though.

    Maybe you could "bear bag" the fabric over one limb at a time. Have a little silk bag of rocks sewn to one end...

    might want to point out..this is a very exciting idea..but down here in the deep south..a guy in a hammock high in a tree ..might be mistaken as a new form of red neck skeet!!
