    I probably couldn't make this stand for the price, and a colorful cotton backyard hammock to boot.

    Interesting. Very interesting.

    Great find. Too bad I'm on the opposite side of the planet.

    108" is VERY short only 9ft you would have to be ok using the included suspension system of looping over the metal and hooking on the side of the pole. I would be hesitant to do that with our typical hammocks at 10ft, I think it would abrade the nylon or cause shear stress.

    Nice design on redirecting the load stresses at the uprights.

    This has me thinking on a suspension style that will bring my original Myan back out of the closet!

    Thanks for the post.

    Pad the area or coat/cover the "cradles" with a friction reducer (vinyl hose?). Research minimum radius for suspension type and pad as appropriate.

    The hammock should easily live as long as the stand would (thin wall metal = short life down here in the south).

    Wow too bright for me.... wheres the nighttime edition?
    There was an Old Man with a owl,
    Who continued to bother and howl;
    He sat on a rail, And imbibed bitter ale,
    Which refreshed that Old Man and his owl
