    Welcome from Las Vegas, Frenchy! I think after you look around here for a while you'll wish that your zipper broke and you mattress popped a long time ago :-)

    My forum name is Fish<><; I'm in the navy; and I hate sleeping on the ground. If I didn't need ground to walk on or measure resistance to, I think I could happily give it up.

    Welcome Frenchy - There are lots of advantages and the "cool" factor with freinds.

    You are lightening the load
    You can find better spots to camp
    You don't have to share
    people who snore cant pitch right next to you
    Less tossing and turning at night
    no more crawling in and out.
    cook under the tarp while sitting down
    wait a picture is a thousand words.....

    So "Who Cooks for you"
    There was an Old Man with a owl,
    Who continued to bother and howl;
    He sat on a rail, And imbibed bitter ale,
    Which refreshed that Old Man and his owl

    Welcome from MI! I know what those bugs can be like. When you're sleeping in a hammock, you can still hear them buzzing through the fabric. It's hard to imagine, but it sounds just like they were inside with you and it takes some getting used to, psychologically. Earplugs help, too.
