    Disadvantages with the NX-250?

Howdy. I'm relatively new to the whole hammock thing, but I've decided to get myself a Clark Jungle Hammock and I'm pretty sure it's going to be either the NX-150 or the NX-250. Looking through these forums, I've noticed a trend where everyone seems to favor the NX-250. Still, I figured I might just ask a few questions before ordering this beauty.

Aside from being a little bit more expensive, are there any disadvantages with the NX-250 over the NX-150 at all? For instance, does the larger size make it more difficult to keep stuff inside it in place while sleeping, or does the length affect ones ability to find places to put it, etc? (Yes, I realize this might sound like incredibly dumb questions for some of the more experienced here, but I *really* don't have hammocking experience to speak of)

I'm 6 foot tall, and weigh in at roughly 240 lbs.

    Hey buddy
    I love my NX150,
    I am 5'8 ish 170lb
If I were to do it over I might get the 250
    Just that much more room
not that I am cramped but sometimes I wonder

    I am thinking your size,
the 250 is the choice for sure

Plus the 250 comes with a larger tarp included. I'm 6' and 190 and really love mine.

Yes, you want the larger bed for your body size. With experience of both size Clarks, the larger bed is pure indulgence for someone my size, 5'7" and 170lb, more weight and bulk to pack and more length to cover with a larger rain-fly. I think that with the hammock bed material chosen, Clark gets away with shorter hammocks than the rest of the market and still offers comfort. But that may be an increasingly difficult case to make. It certainly would be here, where 10ft hammocks are almost expected as minimum.

Whether you want the external pockets under your torso is a different question. If you like the hoops -- and I do, after extended comparison, to have converted two Clark hammocks to include hoops -- then there is also the TX-250 option, which puts four pockets more toward the ends of the hammock bed. If you will use an under-quilt, then you might, with the TX-250, have better access to those four external pockets for storage than you would to the six between the under-quilt and hammock bed for the NX-250.

Clarks are implicitly priced on an incremental-feature basis. Bed size+fly size =>$60, hoops =>$50, weathershield => $50, external pockets => $50.

The only disadvantage between the two is the extra ounces, but the 250 is way more comfortable in my opinion.

Having had several Clarks I have settled in quite nicely in the NX250. I enjoy the extra length over say the NA and like the hoops for that airy feeling. By setting up the tarp seperatly I have options in the way and the height I set it at.
Whether trail or paddle don't you know
My hammock is the way to go
There peace and solitude I find
To ease all troubles from my mind
Both body and soul revel in delight
As day surrenders to inky night

At your size, 240lb, the NA will be a bit tight. Some people like that. I don't, which is why I like the NX200. Never had a feeling of being small, the NA I have is now taken over by the daughter.

I spent a night in my sisters 150. It was good, but I still like my 250 more. I'm only 5'8" 180#. I just like the larger bed size.
