Yes! I picked up one of his zippered tarps at 50% off. Trail Days is 10% retail and 90% publicity event. Hennessy makes a killing, not just in sales (I'm sure he covers expenses plus some slush), but in getting his brand recognition. He also gives away free t-shirts if you wear them immediately and stroll around all week in them. It's worth the investment in free publicity.

Lay in one, then lay in a Blackbird...

Look at the quality of the stitching, knots, etc..then look at a Blackbird...

You will have all the answers you need after doing this.

Curious. I would argue that the Hennessy brand is equally well-made. Reading other posts in this thread and you'll recall that some who've tried the Blackbird returned to the Hennessy _for comfort_.

I'm convinced that comfort in a hammock is in large part a personal thing. I was surprised to find that a tall friend of mine enjoys his Grand Trunk Nano. This was hard for me to believe at first because if he was laying on his back, his feet would easily fall off the side. I found that he side sleeps, with great comfort and delight, in his Nano. HYOH, right?

I've got a large collection of hammocks and I can get comfortable in all of them. I have favorites for different reasons, but I'll gladly take any hammock over the ground.

Yeah, I have friends that got 50% off deals there. I should have said Hennessy discounts HEAVILY at Trail Days because most other Trail Day vendors discount there too but not too many do it to that extent.

Hennesey and ENO have done a great job in the marketing department. They set themselves up to mass produce alot of hammocks and get them sold in many outdoor retailers. The cottage guys here are different. Its their passion and they dont want the headaches of becoming a walmart of hammocks/gear. So they stay small and focus on serving a niche market and do a very good job at it. Sometimes their success backfires as they get so good but dont have the mass production resources!

I still have my original hennesey that I picked up at REI before HF even existed and I like it, but have been sleeping in my WBBB for a few years now.

Well then we would be in an arguement

This is all my opinion, and not fact of course. It's just, every Hennessey I have laid in, or seen, seemed cheap to me. You can't make that statement about anything Brandon produces.
