    Kelty Noah 12 Stretch?

I'm looking at getting the Kelty Noah 12 as my 1st tarp. Does this tarp material stretch? If so, any recommendations on pre-made tarp lines with tensioners? I've found the ones made by whoopieslings.com, but I'm looking for something a little more economical than $8 per tarp line. Thanks for any thoughts and opinions!

While we're at it...does anyone know the best current deal on a Kelty Noah 12? The best I've found so far is from Amazon.com at approx. $65 w/ free shipping.

I have just recently gotten a Kelty Noah 12 I still have to get used to it. It comes with tarp lines and stakes.

I see you are in Monck's Corner, I live near Harleyville / Holly Hill.

If you want to check out the tarp before you pull the trigger on getting one, let me know and we may be able to meet up somewhere so you can check it out.

firemedic: Yeah, I saw we're both on the list to attend the Fall Sprawl...but I plan to have a tarp before then. Your "review" of the Kelty Noah 12 helped me decide that this was the tarp I wanted. :-) I wasn't aware it came with tarp lines and stakes, so that's good...at least to start with. I will take you up on your offer to meet up sometime/somewhere. The earliest I could meet would most likely be the middle of next week b/c I'm working 3rd shift until Tuesday morning early.

According to Kelty's website, the tarp is made of "68D polyester 450 mm." Does polyester stretch like nylon?

I haven't had the tarp hanging long enough to see if it does or not. Maybe hook up next thursday ? we can discuss the meeting via PM

The only thing I know about polyester vs nylon when it comes to stretching is from the ENO Slap Straps. They're nylon, and they stretch quite a bit. Polyester tree savers don't stretch, so from that, I'm guessing a polyester tarp is probably more resistent to stretching.

Then agan, I could be completely wrong.

firemedic: sounds good to me...we'll be in touch closer to then...

Thanks my19. I thought of that as well...I intentionally bought the Kammok Python Straps instead of the Slap Straps for that reason. Also, I did a Google search after I started this topic (maybe I should've done that first...), and according to what I read polyester stretches little, if at all.
