Aug 12 Winding Stair, OK Perseid Watch

This is a Sunday night, so I don't expect any play, but I thought I'd post it anyway.

Winding Stair Campground is on top of Winding Stair Mountain in the Ouachita National Forest.

The Perseid meteor shower peaks the night of the 12th/morning of the 13th. My plan is to arrive Sunday afternoon, get set up, get to bed early with an alarm set for oh-dark-thirty. Drink coffee, watch the sky, greet the sun, and decamp before the heat sets in. Kind of a tradition for me.

    All are welcome.

Hope you get clear skies and cool breezes. Wish I could get there, too, but we're expecting the Perseids to reach West Virginia shortly before or after you see them. Thanks for the reminder.

Thanks for this heads-up OldGringo. I'll be in Yosemite so you can bet we will add this to our evening's schedule.

Nature's peace will flow into you as sunshine flows into trees.
The winds will blow their own freshness into you, and the storms their energy,
while cares will drop away from you like the leaves of Autumn."

If the Monday morning commute to Houston wasn't such a bear, I'd be there.
