    Howdy from Western Washington

Sean's the name. As for the screen name, I forgot what it means. Had it since 1999. Shug's videos brought me here.

I moved to Bellingham a little over 2 and a half years ago from Dallas, TX. Came for my aunt's wedding and never went home. All it took was a single trip in to the mountains.

Since then I go out and camp every chance I get. Started with tents. Then moved to a tarp. Now I have picked up my first hammock; a Grand Trunk Ultralight.

Here I am trying it out at the local park.

I got bored one afternoon at work so I swung by Redden Marine and picked up some Amsteel Blue and made whoopie slings for it.

I'm probably going to make another set that are longer, but those work for now.

Ok, off to work. I'll update this in a little while.

I've been addicted to DIY stuff for years.

Anyways, when it comes to gear, I don't like spending money. My pack is an older REI Traverse Tour Star that I got for dirt cheap. My tarp is an Eddie Bauer Expidition Outfitters SilNy that is at least as old as I am. I found it buried in the corner of the local backpacking outfitters store. It's roughly 10x10 (never bothered to measure it, it's plenty big enough for two as a ground shelter) and gave them $15 for it. It's still 100% waterproof but has a funny smell.

My pride and joy, though, is my Ontario Gen II SP-50.

Here she is when I first got her:

And here is how she looks today. Purdy, dontcha think?

A couple buddies and I have access to some private land in the foothills where we have been given permission to hunt. A few weeks back there was a really bad storm that knocked a bunch of trees down (a story for another thread entirely. My fiancé and I nearly met our maker) so we did the only logical thing and started building a hunting cabin.

Clearing the road to the cabin area:

    Took a lot of work:

    Found it!

XSrcing, I like the rustic looks of your cabin! I can't wait to see how it looks when you are finished! Just remember to add some braces for your hammocks!
