I was thinking of an ENO hammock chair that I sat in at a store once. Didn't want to get out of that chair.
    Thanks!

I couldnít agree more, one is in progress. In addition, my Wife wants an adjustable foot rest, easily done but what this means is, I will have to make two chairs if I have any hope of sitting in one.

Absolutely no objection, in fact Iím drafting the instructions (.pdf) this week. The chair is a new version of the chair I use for winter hangs (Winter Recliner)Ö.keep it between us, the new chair folds out into a hammock!

So is that hammock doubled over in chair mode? What is done with the left over slack?

Yes, the Hammock is folded in half. the bottom (point it folds) runs through a full size climbing biner but that will be replaced with an SMC Descender Ring shortly. Technically, you could do this with any basic Gathered End.

    Otter is a genius!

Just folding the hammock in half to make a chair. Wow! I was about to cut an old hammock down, but now I don't need to.

I just tested it out on the porch with a GT Ultralight. Used an extra woopie to hang the Seat end. Just passed the hammock through the adjustable end.

I like how you seat more upright but with full back support. Can't wait to do this at the Fall MAHHA hang in two weeks.

Just a cautionary note…I use the biner (soon to be the SMC Ring) to allow the hammock fabric to move freely on the folded end, this allows it to equalize under load. This also minimizes damage to the fabric; Amsteel under tension is abrasive and will wear through the hammock body over time.
